Hi my name is Kelly Harris and welcome to my website.
My husband Paul Harris and I own a boutique jewellery house in the heart of the Grand Mercure Monaco Resort In sunny Nelson, called Paul Harris Jewellers on High Street Monaco. From here we manufacture jewellery in all precious metals and specialise in wedding and engagement rings. We have just opened another boutique jewellery store in the Nelson CBD where we also have a small manufacturing area and a lovely retail space called "The Jewellers Wife".
At our Monaco workshop we have a very unique place to work. In the wedding season, it is not unusual to see two or three different couples a week get married outside of our shop window. Sometimes even exchanging wedding rings that Paul has made for them.
The outlook from our jewellery benches is of beautiful gardens and unique village-style setting. Seriously, getting up for work each day really isn’t that hard!
In the early days, it was my job to do the admin and accounts, but I was easily distracted when Paul was working on custom made pieces for people with beautiful diamonds and precious gems like rubies, sapphires and many more. I could easily sit and watch him work for hours! I was in awe at the precision and commitment that he worked with and for a burley looking fellow he is, I was amazed at how he could make something so delicate looking (not to mention tiny!) So my interest in jewellery making grew, and I started playing around with his tools when he wasn’t at work. When I first started making jewellery, I would engrave the initials TJW on the back of all of my pieces, when customers would ask who TJW was, I would say "thats ME" im The Jewellers Wife!
I impressed him enough for him to buy me my own tools to work with and I ws off. I have since come along way, opening my new store on Hardy Street in the Nelson CBD and selling my jewellery to people all over the world.
I am very lucky to have such an experienced mentor and friend, I enjoy what I do, and I still enjoy sitting and watching Paul make jewellery. Although I drive him crazy with my design ideas, and sometimes he can’t believe how popular my jewellery is. It’s quite funny really.
